Lily Fertik, Artist

Lily Fertik is a contemporary painter born and raised in New York City, now based in Ridgefield, Connecticut, where she continues to bring color, movement, and heart into her work and surrounding communities. Coming from a long line of artists and collectors, she studied commercial art before following her first love—Claude Monet—into a life of painting. ​Working through layered abstraction and mixed media, Fertik explores emotional presence, memory, and connection. Her practice is intuitive, guided by both trained instinct and a willingness to move beyond limitation, allowing each painting to unfold over time. Rooted in a deep connection to the natural world and her inner landscape, her work moves between energy and stillness—what begins as movement often settles into something more grounded. ​There is a quiet shift that occurs in the finished work.
